Now a PADI Divemaster

I'm now a PADI-certified Divemaster and Assistant Instructor Candidate. "Divemaster" is a professional certification allowing me to lead certified divers on dives, instruct refresher courses, and assist in teaching Open Water Diver courses. I started the Divemaster program for two reasons: 1) to become a better diver and 2) be prepared to manage the challenges and risks of diving on film sets at which water scenes are being shot.

The Blacklist, "Anna-Garcia Duerte" Ep 517 – Coogan Hudnutt!

I had a great time on set in the small but wonderfully named character, "Coogan Hudnutt." There was a lot of action packed into my short time on screen: I held a shotgun, ran from the hero, had a  scene with James Spader, had my mugshot up in the 'War Room,' was badmouthed by the series' regulars, and was tortured--on the rack--all in about a minute of screen time. My first appearance on network episodic tv was incredibly fun and fulfilling. I look forward to doing mor...

The Blacklist, airing April 4th, 2018

I'm super pleased to say that I'll be on THE BLACKLIST, episode 517, "Anna Gracia-Duerte," on April 4th, 2018. I play the small role of the tantalizingly named "Coogan Hudnutt." This is my network tv premiere and I couldn't be happier about it! THE BLACKLIST is a mammoth enterprise, shot both in cavernous studios and on location, so there's no slack in the day.

Successful Productions in DC and Prague!

The Alliance for New Music-Theatre put up a successful production of Havel's PROTEST this May in Washington, D.C., in the Dupont Underground's new art and performance space, underneath Dupont Circle. Our audiences, which were in no small part engaged actively in present day politics--either through jobs or simply by exposure as DC residents--were alive to Havel's character study of a man attempting to retain his privileges under a watchful totalitarian state while finding (not entire...

Upcoming Projects for 2017

Happy New Year!Much of my business in the last quarter of 2016 was personal--including getting settled as a New Yorker again (my mailing address and home for much of the month is in NYC, now, but I still spend considerable time each month in Washington, DC, where I work with The Alliance for New Music-Theatre) and making progress on writing projects--so I haven't posted. But, a New Year has dawned, and I have a couple of projects booked:This winter, I'll be on set for a couple of days on...

Quick update

Our initial run of Vaclav Havel's PROTEST was a success, selling out all our public shows at The Woodrow Wilson House, in DC, and at the Czech Cultural Center, in NYC. Performing the show for some in the audience who were survivors of the Prague Spring, and lived to see the Velvet Revolution, was both moving and humbling. We look forward to performing PROTEST again in DC and Prague, and possibly elsewhere.Elsewise on the agenda:• I'm co-writing a limited episodic series, which we ...

Hello, Portland, My Old Home Town!

After rehearsing PROTEST in both NYC and DC, in August, I came out to Portland, Or., to meet with my wonderful agents at Ryan Artists, walk a lot in Forest Park as I work to get off book, for PROTEST, on what is virtually a 25 page monologue, and to see many old friends. It's been wonderful to walk and work under these old trees, out here.  I hope soon to do some bicycling and get to the beach.

Mid-summer Update

It's been a wonderful summer thus far: my girlfriend and I spent ten days in Alaska, recharging ourselves on nearly-endless day light, great seafood, and outdoor adventures such as hiking up the Exit Glacier trail to the Harding Ice Field, kayaking a backcountry lake, and whale watching. Now I'm mostly back to work, starting rehearsals soon for PROTEST, by Vàclac Havel, in a production for The Alliance for New Music-Theatre and the Czech Embassy. I'm also making a two ...
